Meet the team

Karen Eeles

Fundraising and Events Manager

Karen has been with Challenge & Adventure for 5 years now, and has 17 years in the charity sector. She is responsible for raising money for our young people, which involves many fundraising events throughout the year – including walks, concerts, dog shows, and quizzes. Karen works closely with the Island community.

Tom Scovell

Training Manager/ HTP Apprenticeship College Senior Training Consultant

Tom has been teaching with HTP Apprenticeship College/Challenge & Adventure for 10 years and really enjoys teaching practically, to further develop young people’s knowledge and skills.

Tom Evans

Project Leader

Tom has worked at Challenge & Adventure since Easter 2018. Prior to joining he worked in a Further Education setting, teaching Sports & Recreation qualifications, and delivered a study programme where learners secured national governing body instructor qualifications and jobs in dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking & stand up paddle boarding. He enjoys being active and outdoors, where he believes that operating slightly outside of your comfort zone provides huge growth in both education and personal development.

Lewis Patterson

Project Leader

Lewis also joined the Challenge & Adventure team in Easter 2018, aiming to blend his experiences of teaching in formal education with guiding learning in the outdoors. Having grown up on the Isle of Wight he has spent much of his working life outdoors and with young people in a variety of forms. Whether guiding adventurous trips in the USA, delivering training to large commercial groups or providing First Aid at ski resorts, Lewis firmly believes that “People grow outside” and this has developed his passion for effecting positive change in young people.

Emily Dronfield

fundraising assistant

Emily has been working as an apprentice in our Fundraising department for almost a year. Prior to this she was a volunteer in our charity shop.
